Governor Alex Otti has appealed to investors who left Abia State to return and tap into the opportunities his administration says are emerging across the state.
Otti made the appeal on Monday while announcing the commissioning of the 55-room ORIS Signature Hotel on Okigwe Road, Aba.
In a post on his X handle, the governor praised the hotel’s Chief Executive Officer, Owelle Greg Okafor, for delivering the project in just over two years.
Otti described the hotel as a major boost to Aba’s hospitality and investment landscape. He said its completion showed what was possible when vision, enterprise and a supportive business environment work together.
The governor noted that Aba faced serious challenges when his administration took office, including bad roads and struggling industries. According to him, the situation is gradually changing, with businesses returning, property values rising and fresh investments taking shape.
He therefore called on investors who had earlier relocated from the state, as well as prospective ones, to come and benefit from the opportunities being created.
“What we have achieved so far is only the beginning,” Otti said, adding that more completed projects would strengthen Aba’s status as an economic hub.
He singled out the Radisson Blu Enyimba Hotel, which is nearing completion, as one of the projects expected to drive the city’s growth.
Otti also thanked the guests, friends and well-wishers who attended the commissioning and supported what he called the transformation of Aba and Abia.
He congratulated Okafor and the entire ORIS Signature Hotel team on the milestone.
“Together, we will continue to build an Abia where businesses and investments can thrive and opportunities abound,” the governor said.
