President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday held a meeting with the leadership of the Nigerian Senate at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
The meeting was confirmed on Thursday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the Senate delegation was led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The discussions focused on pressing national issues, with both sides said to have reached far-reaching decisions.
“President Tinubu met the extended leadership of the Senate on Wednesday at the Villa. According to Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, far-reaching decisions were taken at this strategic meeting, which deliberated on matters of urgent national importance,” Onanuga wrote on 𝕏.
In a related development, the 2023 Rivers State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tonye Cole, has said Nigerians may need to wait between two and three years before fully experiencing the benefits of President Tinubu’s economic reforms.
Speaking on Political Paradigm on Channels Television, Cole said while macroeconomic indicators may show improvement, it often takes time for such gains to translate into tangible relief for citizens.
He added that the real measure of success for any economic policy is its impact on the daily lives of ordinary Nigerians.
