Nigerian pilgrims in Madinah have begun their scheduled movement to Makkah after completing a four-day stay in the holy city.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (National Hajj Commission of Nigeria) confirmed the commencement of the movement as part of the structured 2026 Hajj operations.
NAHCON stated that the four approved Hajj air carriers—Max Air, Umza Aviation Services, Air Peace, and Flynas—have so far transported 9,756 Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
The commission also advised pilgrims who wish to visit the Rawdah in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah before departing for Makkah to coordinate properly with their respective State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards.
According to NAHCON, officials of the various state boards have been trained and guided on how to secure Rawdah visitation bookings for pilgrims.
It, however, cautioned that access to the Rawdah is strictly regulated due to crowd control measures and is dependent on available slots and approved reservations.
Pilgrims were urged to remain patient, adhere to official arrangements, and follow the guidance of Islamic scholars on the proper conduct of Hajj rites.
NAHCON further clarified that visiting the Rawdah is a spiritually rewarding opportunity but not a compulsory requirement for the validity of the Hajj exercise, stressing that such privileges are granted at Allah’s discretion.
