The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, has restated the Federal Government’s resolve to end terrorism in Nigeria.
Naija News reports that the presidential aide commended security forces for their ongoing efforts against terrorists, kidnappers, bandits and other criminals across the country, insisting that no matter how long it takes, the only option left for the criminals is to surrender or be eliminated.
Dare stressed that President Tinubu would never bow to the demands of terrorists.
Reacting on his X account to confirmation from the Nigerian Army that troops had recorded a major operational success with the arrest of a suspected high-profile arms trafficker linked to an interstate illegal weapons network, Dare wrote: “These victories, arrests and pressing against terrorists and kidnappers by our soldiers must be praised and recorded as part of the security success of the Tinubu administration. President Tinubu has since vowed that we will not surrender. The terrorists must surrender or be decimated.”
Recall that President Tinubu had earlier expressed shock over the death of retired Major-General Rabe Abubakar while in the custody of terrorists in Katsina State.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President noted that General Abubakar, after a distinguished military career, had retired a few years ago and was on his way to his hometown when he was abducted by the hoodlums.
The statement added that while the terrorists had “done their worst,” the government would never bow to their demand for the release of their members held by security agencies.
