Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has revealed that she does not see herself marrying a Nigerian.
Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, the media personality explained that her stance is influenced by a past relationship experience that left her questioning the intentions of some men who approach her.
According to Cuppy, one of her former partners appeared more interested in meeting her father than building a genuine connection with her. The experience, she said, made her more cautious about relationships.
She said, “I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible. The last person I dated kept asking when he could meet my dad. I didn’t even think he liked me. My dad doesn’t care who I marry; he just wants me to get married. That’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Mr Eazi.”
In a separate conversation with media personality Zeze Millz, the 33-year-old also reflected on her dating history and how her preferences have changed over the years.
Cuppy disclosed that she has dated men from various backgrounds, including a model, a footballer and even a bus driver. She added that some of these relationships began through dating apps, revealing that she once spent £400 to join one of the platforms.
The entertainer said her outlook on relationships has evolved, particularly after watching her younger sister, Temi Otedola, settle down with singer Mr Eazi.
Rather than pursuing high-profile relationships, Cuppy said she now desires a simple and private partner who works a regular job and avoids social media.
“I’ve dated all kinds of men, but now all I want is a simple 9-to-5 man with no social media. I once dated a bus driver I met on a dating app that I paid £400 to join,” she said.
Cuppy’s love life has often attracted public attention. She was previously engaged to British boxer Ryan Taylor in 2022, but the relationship ended shortly after. She has also been romantically linked to music executive Asa Asika in the past.
