BUA Cement has given ₦12 million to the families of eight people who died in a road accident on the Kajiji–Tambuwal road in Sokoto State.
Each of the eight bereaved families received ₦1.5 million. The crash reportedly involved a commercial minibus carrying 13 passengers and a BUA Cement truck. Eight people, including a child, were reported dead.
Company officials visited the families in Tambuwal to present the money. They were accompanied by the District Head of Tambuwal, Alhaji Ahmad Dahiru, and the Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Area, Hon. Abba Shehu Tambuwal.
The district head and the council chairman commended the gesture, describing it as a significant show of compassion. They noted that the company offered the support even though reports indicated its truck was not responsible for the crash.
They said the donation reflected the value of corporate social responsibility and urged other organisations to assist communities hit by tragedy.
The two leaders added that while the money cannot bring back the dead, it will help ease the immediate financial burden on the families.
They also prayed for Allah to reward the company, grant the deceased eternal rest, and give the bereaved the strength and patience to bear their loss.
