Nollywood actress Oluebube Obi has spoken out after facing backlash over her appearance at an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign event, claiming she was coerced into attending and that her safety could not be guaranteed.
The actress addressed the growing criticism in a social media post after videos of her at the political gathering sparked questions from Nigerians curious about her involvement with the party.
Oluebube explained that there was more to the appearance than what the videos showed, alleging she is being blackmailed by unnamed individuals. She said she would expose those responsible once the time was right, and appealed to her fans and supporters to keep her in their prayers.
In her words: “I was actually forced to be in such settings, my life and safety is not guaranteed, if you watch the video closely, I myself felt so much discomfort and stressed up. When the time is right I will expose the people blackmailing me, the least you can do is to pray for me.”
She did not disclose the identities of those she accused of coercion or blackmail, nor did she provide further details on the circumstances surrounding her appearance at the event.
