Nollywood actor and film producer, Kunle Omisore, has made a startling claim about a personal encounter with witches, insisting that he once attended a coven meeting to settle a dispute.
The 48-year-old made the revelation during a recent appearance on the African A-List podcast, where he spoke about being invited to explain himself after a member of the coven accused him of offending her.
According to Omisore, he was summoned to the meeting after a woman he had never met reported him, claiming he had ruined something belonging to her.
“Witches exist. I have gone to a meeting with witches before and came back to the house. Yes, they invited me. I went to settle a dispute,” he said.
“One of them reported me. She said I offended her, and I was summoned. I went to explain my own side of the issue. I don’t really understand the allegation, but she accused me of ruining something that belongs to her.”
He added that he denied the accusation to the group’s leader, insisting he had no prior contact with the woman.
“And I told their leader that I have never met her before, nor did I ruin anything that belonged to her. I saw many people that were tied there. Some were carrying calabashes on their heads,” he narrated.
The actor also used the moment to address how witches are typically portrayed in Nollywood films, saying the depiction doesn’t match what he witnessed firsthand.
“So basically, if I want to shoot a movie with a witch character, I have never seen a witch that paints their face like the one in a Nigerian movie. The ones that I saw wore Iro and buba,” Omisore said.
