The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has called for a strategic collaboration with the Bank of Industry (BoI) aimed at strengthening youth and women empowerment across the South West region.
The group said the proposed partnership would focus on key sectors including agriculture, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), education, and healthcare.
MUSWEN President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, made the appeal while leading a delegation to the Lagos office of the Bank of Industry.
In a statement released to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Oladejo commended the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BoI, Dr Olasupo Olusi, for his commitment to economic development and support for enterprise growth.
He also urged the bank to adopt counterpart funding arrangements and other collaborative financing models that would help close funding gaps affecting entrepreneurs and small businesses within the MUSWEN network.
In his response, Dr Olusi appreciated MUSWEN’s initiatives and vision, noting that the bank was open to partnerships in areas of shared developmental goals.
Members of the MUSWEN delegation included Deputy President I, Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti; Deputy President II, Alhaji Wale Sonaike; Executive Secretary, Prof. Wole Abbas; Chairman of the MUSWEN Economic Empowerment Committee, Alhaji Lere Alimi; and Director of Finance and Administration, Alhaji Abdul-Wakeel Olaniyi.
