The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) says it is in talks with several opposition figures seeking collaboration as political alignments begin ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party’s National Chairman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, disclosed on Monday that numerous politicians have contacted the PRP in recent weeks expressing interest in joining its platform.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Baba-Ahmed said the party is willing to accommodate individuals and groups, including leaders of the African Democratic Coalition (ADC), stressing that its doors remain open.
He noted that the outreach has intensified over the past three to four weeks, with many indicating readiness to defect to the PRP.
The former political adviser to Bola Tinubu added that the party could provide a political home for ADC leaders if the Supreme Court rules against the coalition’s participation in the 2027 elections.
According to him, the PRP, which has existed for about seven decades, remains a credible platform for electoral contests. However, he emphasized that prospective members must fully comply with the party’s rules before any formal collaboration is concluded.
Baba-Ahmed also argued that President Tinubu would struggle to secure victory in 2027 if the elections are conducted under free and fair conditions.
