Distinguished Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, alongside members of his working committee, inaugurated the Media & Public Relations Committee for Lagos Central Senatorial District ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general elections yesterday 7th of September at his office in Alagomeji, Yaba Lagos State.
The inauguration marks another important step towards strengthening the Senator’s engagement with constituents, stakeholders, party members and the general public, while ensuring that the activities, achievements and programmes of the Senator and his team are effectively communicated to the people of Lagos Central.
The newly constituted Media & Public Relations Committee comprises carefully selected representatives from all 13 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LGs/LCDAs) within Lagos Central Senatorial District. The broad-based composition is designed to ensure that the committee maintains strong grassroots presence and effectively captures the aspirations, concerns and activities of constituents across the district.
The committee is expected to play a strategic role in developing and coordinating media and public relations initiatives, managing communication channels, promoting accurate and timely dissemination of information, documenting constituency engagements and highlighting developmental interventions and legislative activities.
During the inauguration, emphasis was placed on the importance of professionalism, accuracy, responsible communication, teamwork and strategic media engagement. Members were encouraged to work collectively and maintain a strong connection with the grassroots, ensuring that information from the Senator’s office reaches constituents in a clear, timely and accessible manner.
As preparations for the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum, the Media & Public Relations Committee will serve as an important platform for coordinating communication efforts across Lagos Central. Its work will include strengthening public engagement, improving visibility for constituency programmes, responding appropriately to emerging issues and ensuring that the Senator’s activities and engagements are effectively communicated across traditional and digital media platforms.
