Former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun has moved to silence speculation of internal divisions within the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring the party firmly united in its support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Amosun made the remarks on Saturday while addressing party members and supporters at the APC presidential primaries held at Ward 6, Itoko, in the Abeokuta South local government area of Ogun State.
According to the former governor, the nationwide primary exercise was a powerful show of solidarity, with every ward across the country participating to reaffirm the party’s commitment to the President.
“Today is for the President. All of us must come out and demonstrate that we are for the President and we are for APC,” Amosun told supporters. “We are all in sync. Every ward in Nigeria is doing this, and we are speaking with one voice — no dissension. Everybody agrees that we want our President to continue his good work.”
Also lending his voice at the event, Abeokuta South Federal Constituency lawmaker Afolabi Moruf Afuape said the impressive turnout of party faithful was a strong signal of Tinubu’s rising popularity and broad acceptance across the country.
Afuape described the enthusiasm on display as a reflection of grassroots confidence in the President’s leadership and vision, adding that Amosun’s personal participation in the exercise was particularly significant — a gesture he said underscored the growing spirit of unity within APC ranks.
