Gunmen have abducted the wife and twin children of the younger brother of former Minister of Power and 2027 APC governorship aspirant, Adebayo Adelabu.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday morning in the Challenge area of Ibadan, Oyo State, when the victims were travelling within the city.
According to a media aide to Adelabu, Femi Awogboro, the victims—identified as Laide and her twin sons, Peter and Paul—were seized by armed men at Elewura in the Challenge area.
He explained that the family was on their way from Elewura heading towards the express road when they were ambushed and forcibly taken away by the attackers.
“They were going out this morning from Elewura to link the express when they were attacked and whisked away by unknown kidnappers,” he said.
When contacted, spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, said the command was yet to independently verify the incident at the time of filing this report, adding that investigation was ongoing.
Authorities are expected to provide further updates as the situation develops.
